Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ review
Wait for the latest flagship from samsung is over. Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ have been officially announced. What really matters now is did they change their design and the features inside the hood when compared to its predecessors. Let's have a brief look at it.
Design
There's nothing changed on the front side of S9 and S9+ when compared to its predecessors. But it seems that samsung has made some changes on the backside by changing the camera position and even the no of lens has been increased to two like the samsung galaxy note8 and a fingerprint scanner attached below it. All these are aligned vertically unlike the S8 series that aligned it horizontally and the heartrate sensor and the flash shifted to right from the left side. The position of volume button, power button and bixby button and every other side seems to be same. The back panel and the front screen both are protected with the Gorilla Glass 5. These are attached to a aluminium frame with rounded edges.
Display
Samsung has been constantly providing its smartphones with AMOLED Displays that does not only displays vibrant colors but even displays text and images of high and crip quality. It has a aspect ratio of 18.5:9 that is slightly more from what other smartphone players are offering. Display sizes ofS9 and S9+ are 5.8" and 6.2" resplectively with 568ppi and 531ppi and supports HDR 10.
Perfomace
The major changes that we got to see are under the hoods of the S9 i.e., the hardware specifications. Samsung says that it is their fastest phone ever and is powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset with an Adreno 630 GPU / Exynos 9810 with Mali-G72 MP18 GPU.Both chipsets are having 8 cores in it. These processors are paired with 4GB/6GB ram in S9/S9+. Combining the power of both the ram and processor you wont get a chance to compromise on the perfomance and can run whatever you need.
Camera
As years are passing by the camera quality in a smartphone is incresing and the quality of the pictures and videos taken from them are nearly equal to those of the professional cameras and video recorders with image stabilisation and low light image capture feature. This year samsung has added an extra lens on the rear side of its bigger varient S9+. They both are of different appertures. One is of f/1.5 that is used to take low light images and the other lens has f/2.4 that takes crisp and sharp images. These lenses are tweeked in such a way that they automatically shift from one lens to another based on the condition of the light.
The f/1.5 lens is activated when there is low light and f/2.4 is activated when there is more light. Samsung now provides video recording of 1080p at 240fps and 720p at 960fps that they call it as super slow motion with motion detection and object tracking.
It sport a 8MP front camera with f/1.7 apperture and can record 1440p video at 30fps.
It comes in four different colors Lilac Purple, Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue. Inside the box you would find your Cellphone with a USB adapter, Ejection pin, USB Cable, Earphone, Quick Start Guide, USB Connecto of micro USB and USB-C type.
